About the Trip
The Nagaland Tribal tour is that rare tour which gets international fame. The tour is mainly famous because of the Naga tribe there. The tribe got international fame on during second great world war. Mainly it has come in light because Japanese advance was halted here by Britsh and Indian Army.
The traditional Naga house is also an attraction for the tourist normally the traditional Naga house has three common symbols. First, their house has crossed “horned “ in the gable. Second, on their house has a carved head and it is significant to the status of the family. Third, they have a huge basket to hold grain in front of the house. These special characteristics of Naga tribe draw the attention of international tourist.
Itinerary : 11 nights and 12 Days
Day 1 – Arrive Dimapur (Airport)
On arrival meet our representative and transfer to Kohima, which is at a distance of 74 km from Dimapur en route stop at Zubza later arrived at Kohima. On arrival check in hotel, which will already reserve for you. Overnight at Kohima
Day 2 – Around Kohima
After Breakfast drive to Khonoma. It is an Angami Naga Village located at 20 km away from the capital city Kohima. Khonoma the green village of Nagaland has never ending shade of lush greenery all around the village. Looking around the village activities and on Lunch, taste Angami traditional dishes at the village. In late afternoon sightseeing of the city and visit to second world war cemetery and state museum. Back to hotel.
Day 3 – Kohima to Tuophema
In morning after breakfast drive to Tuophema. It is located at the distance of 40 km from Kohima. Upon arrival take reset and after lunch ready to visit vishwema village and kigwema village. Later drive back to Touphema. On arrival check in into touphema tourist village. In the evening enjoy Naga folk music and dance. It is the second large village of Asia. Overnight at touphema tourist village.
Day 4 – Tuophema-Wokha-Mokokchung
The morning after breakfast drive to reach mokokchung (120 km and will take around 5 hours to reach there) – en route stop at Longsa village for Police check post during checking visiting Longsa village ( Lotha tribe) the nearest village. Later way to longkhim village of Ao tribe. Visit village house, Rock memorial, etc. later upon arrival in mokokchung checked in at the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 5 – Mokokchung Area
After 8 am of morning drive to visit Chuchuyinlang village 18 km from Mokokchung. This village is an epitome of natural beauty and also renowned for the glorious celebration of the various tribal festival. Back to town, after lunch sightseeing of the famous tourist spot of Mokokchung town in and around.
Day 6 – Mokokchung – Tuensang
Morning excursion to Mopungchukit village later take breakfast and drive to reach Tuensang. En-route stop Chare town at Longsa village for Polish check post. On the way toward Tuensang, a halt is scheduled at Longkhim village of Sangtam tribe-visit local sangtam house and a small walk in the village. Later on, arrival checks in at the circuit house.
Day 7 – Tuensang (Area)
Later in the after breakfast visiting Tuensang village of Chang tribe and explored around to some of the finest traditional huts. Later on, late afternoon visiting more tribe village around the Tuensang like Changsangmongko. This village is renowned for establishing a raised platform named Mullang, which is a symbol of the prosperity and well being of mankind. Back to Hotel.
Day 8 – Tuensang – Mon. Konyak tribe (The Headhunters)
This day is scheduled to visit the Indian last village bordering with Myanmar. So will have to take a bit early breakfast and drive to reach Mon via Tobu. Upon arrival check in Halsa cottage over night on Mon.
Day 9 & 10 – Mon ( Region and My Longwa)
You will go by jeep to the village of Longwa, which is one of the largest in the region. Located on a peak, it is crossed by the official border between India and Burma. The ANGH, hereditary chief of the village, it’s just a horse at home in both countries. Night near his house, but the Burmese side.
Discovery of this village, one of the finest and best preserved of all the Naga Hills. walking through the village, very large, and even the Burmese side below the ridge. Burmese soldiers are not present at the border. Hiking around, Mee ng of Naga on trails and near the village hunters, women bringing wood in baskets or water in pipes bamboo, farmers, etc. Also visit other important Naga villages, including Shangnyu which houses an amazing carved wooden panel. The ANGH this village plays a very important role in this Northern remote region of Nagaland, close to Arunachal Pradesh and Burma.
Discover also the village of Chui, home to some long houses, and another further along the Tuensang road, which still houses human skulls from the days, not so long ago, the headhun ng, stored in wooden dug a long drum in a large trunk. Formerly, they were stored on shelves.
Two nights at the hotel in Mon, but under the conditions, it is sometimes possible to pass one of
Longwa two nights, next to the house of the village chief.
Day 11 – Mon – Shiv Sagar – Dibrughar
Shiv Sagar was the oldest capital of Ahom kingdom which ruled over Assam for more than 600 years and the lone Kingdom in this Indian History who come under the rule of Mughal emperor. On the late afternoon visiting some of the famous forts of Ahom kingdom at Shiv Sagar on the way to Dibrugarh.
Day 12 – Dibrugarh – Airport
Airport dropping. Flew back to Delhi.

There is no personal insurance of any kind included in the tour price. So you are strongly advised to arrange travel insurance from your place of residence in advance for your tour with us. Whilst the country has a good standard of medical and hospital facilities, it does not offer the facilities that only a larger population can support. HillBirdTravels is, therefore, not responsible for any loss, injury, illness or death sustained during your trip.
Any cancellations must be received in writing via email to Hill Bird Travels. (firstname.lastname@example.org). Refunds are processed within days after we receive details of your cancellation. The following charges apply:
- More than 30 days: Deposit is forfeited
- Within 21 days: 10% Advance of the total tour cost
- Within 14 days: 15% Advance of the total tour cost
- Within 7 days: 30% Advance of the total tour cost
- Less than 7 days: 50 Advance of the total tour cost
- After arrival: 100% Advance of the total cost
